TestProcess.Measure.Ratio.AmplitudeModulation.Delta.Rate

The process of measuring the Percent of Modulation of an Amplitude Modulation (AM) Signal at a Reference Rate Frequency then changing the Modulation Rate measuring the Amplitude Modulation again. The two measured values are compared, the results can be expressed as Delta dB or percent of change.  This test is often used to test the Amplitude Modulation Bandwith of a signal generator.

Required Parameters

  • Frequency – Frequency of the carrier signal
  • RateRef – Modulation ReferenceRate Frequency
  • Rate – Modulation Rate Frequency

Optional Parameters

  • Power – Power of the signal
  • Depth– Modulation Depth of the signal
  • Detector – {+Peak, -Peak, Average, PeakToPeak, RMS”
  • HighPassFilter – Frequency of the High Pass Filter
  • LowPassFilter – Frequency of the High Pass Filter
  • BandPassFilter – {CCIT}
  • UUT.Output – Output Name of the UUT Connecting Point

Output Value & Uncertainty

  • dB – Measured Value – Reference Value
  • % – Reference Value / Measured Value * 100
